Elizabeth Smiley Glasbrenner is a co-founder (with her brother Vance Smiley) of Smiley Technologies, Inc., a core software and service provider for community banks. The company was founded in 2002 to meet a customer need that existed in Arkansas. Elizabeth is the daughter of Walter Smiley, founder of Systematics (the original pioneer to sharing computer space for banks) and grew up roaming the datacenters of Systematics. She strives to maintain the trust and partnership with her customers that she remembers from her youth.
Elizabeth has been President and CEO since 2015, and drives the strategic direction and financial performance of the Company. Under her leadership, the Company has seen consistent growth and has received numerous national accolades including Certified Evergreen company by Tugboat Institute, Forbes Small Giants winner, and 2nd on American Banker’s Best Places to Work in Financial Technology in 2021. Also, in 2021, Elizabeth was selected to the inaugural class of the Forbes Next 1000 of which Forbes chose 250 entrepreneurs from across the country.
Her previous experience includes both development and special events roles at Carolinas Healthcare Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network and National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park, CO. Elizabeth has a unique interest in communities and helping those in need. Part of running this company fulfills this interest by providing services and products to community banks that, in turn, can spend more time helping their communities because of the trusted partnership.
Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in Marketing and Management. Her husband of almost 20 years, Jeff Glasbrenner, is an elite athlete and motivational speaker. They have two children, Grace (18) and Gavin (16).
