Carl Frank graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in computer science and attended at the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a master’s in computer science.

He worked for two years at Arkansas Systems in Little Rock as a Programmer/Analyst. Carl then returned to Henderson State University to teach Computer Science and later at taught at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He returned to Arkansas to work for the state at the Arkansas Department of Higher Education before joining the faculty at Arkansas School of Mathematics, Science and the Arts in Hot Springs, where he taught Computer Science for 28 years. He has served as the programming coach and the botball coach. At other times he has coached baseball. Carl sponsors ASMSA chapters of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He has sent teams and individuals to regional and national competitions and helped build these competitive STEM related activities in Arkansas.

In July 2023, he accepted a job at Arkansas State University Three Rivers as a CIS Instructor.

Carl is currently the president of the Arkansas Chapter of the Computer Science Teachers Association and is deeply involved efforts to expand the computer science curriculum in K-12 education, to increase the number of schools offering Computer Science, and to define a certification for computer science teachers in Arkansas.

Carl Frank grew up in Arkansas, received his BS in Computer Science from an Arkansas Institution, has worked for Arkansas firms and educational institutions for over 30 years. He lives in Traskwood, Saline County, Arkansas and is very involved in the community. He completed his Educational Leadership Degree from Henderson State University in 2022.

In addition to his professional career, Carl served on the Glen Rose School Board for 22 years, and is active in the Saline County Democratic Central Committee. He also participates in the Arkansas STEM Coalition.
