Arkansas has strong demand and a significant shortage of tech workers as evidenced by recent articles reported in Arkansas Business: NWA has 2000 open tech jobs, Apptegy to add 300 tech jobs in Little Rock and Metova moving headquarters to Bentonville and hiring just to mention a few examples. Graduates from Arkansas computing programs are in high demand and can help reduce the shortage.

However, college is expensive. According to College Tuition Compare, the average annual cost of attending a four-year public university in Arkansas is $23,868. Data from the Education Data Initiative shows Arkansas owes $13 billion in student loans debt which confirms considerable hardship for Arkansas college students.

To help mitigate this hardship of the high cost of college and ensure Arkansas tech demands are met, the Arkansas Academy of Computing (AAoC) provides scholarships only to Arkansas higher education programs including the following computing programs: Arkansas State University-Jonesboro, Arkansas Tech University-Russellville, Henderson State University-Arkadelphia, Southern Arkansas University-Magnolia, UA Fayetteville-Walton College ISYS, UA Fayetteville-Engineering CSCE, UA Fort Smith, UA Monticello, UA Pine Bluff, UA Little Rock, UCA-Conway, and Ouachita Baptist University.

With your support of a tax-deductible donation to the AAoC Scholarship, you are making a difference in students’ lives and strengthening the tech capabilities of Arkansas. Every donation makes a difference. 100% of scholarship donations are distributed to student scholarships.
