Along the way he created a start-up manufacturing business, had a long career with a successful information technology company and provided significant support for the careers of hundreds of professionals.

In his 21 year career with Systematics and Alltel Information Services he advanced from a programmer trainee to the President of the 3000 employee Financial Services Division. He served as an executive for Acxiom Corporation and the ESI Group, both rapidly growing technology oriented companies. He also started a small manufacturing business and has had considerable success as an independent consultant.

He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He earned a master’s degree in industrial administration from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt.

Encouraged by business friends, he authored his first book, Listen to Your Work: Job-Active Advice From a Battle-Scarred Mentor which was published in April, 2009 by Parkhurst Brothers, Inc. from Little Rock, Arkansas. http://pbros.net/listen.htm Listen to Your Work is a mentoring book, targeted to young professionals, students, and people going through job changes of any kind.

Always mindful of the value of education in business, he has been a state pioneer in a number of efforts to link academia with the business community. He was a founding member of both the Knowledge Based Companies of Arkansas and the Arkansas Society for Computer and Information Technology. He served for 10 years on the curriculum advisory board of the Computer Information Systems Department of the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
